Border Days Web & Social Media Support

I would like to announce the selection of three individuals who are helping in the effort to bring the best of this 100th annual rodeo event and Border Days celebration to the web and Facebook Fan page.

Charlotte Quinn has been pro-active in posting on Facebook and helping to keep the Facebook Fan page interactive and moderated.   Charlotte grew up in Grangeville, went to school here, attends most Border Days events (if not all) and has kin still living in Grangeville as well as on the Border Days committee.   She is a wonderful person, very enthusiastic and friendly and brings warmth and personality to the Facebook Fan page.  Charlotte is attending the 100th Annual Rodeo celebration where she will keep the Facebook Fan Page alive and kicking with updates and commenting.

Katie Higgins is a GHS high school student who will help to support the Border Days website as a contributing author.   Katie is a talented writer and will bring a refreshing and youthful perspective to a variety of events through her storytelling skills.  She is also a member of the Idaho County Orchestra and will be playing a musical instrument on July 4th.  ( Check our events page for updates that should come soon, for dates and times. )  Katie enjoys blogging and will learn skills in the art of content management using our new Border Days website as a training and learning environment to add useful skills for future job and/or college opportunities.

Nick Westberg is also a GHS high school student who will be supporting the online exposure of our Border Days event through his passion for photography and videos.   When you see Nick,  he may capture the moment you’re experiencing with friends and family, preserving the precious memories within our community and the celebration of 100 years of rodeo in Grangeville Idaho.  Nick is going to be a valuable contributor to the GrangevilleBorderDays.org website and we’ll all enjoy the fruits of his labors in this approach to the big event.

Please help me to extend a very warm welcome to each of our online contributors to the Border Days event!

The band will perform on the 4th only, riding on a trailer for the annual parade preceding the Border Days rodeo.

Horses, Riders Sought for 100th Border Days Parade

GRANGEVILLE — Are you a horse rider interested in being a part of history?

Ray Holes Saddle Company is seeking riders interested in being part of a horse procession during the Grangeville Border Days Fourth of July parade.

“It used to be the largest horse parade when Border Days first started,” said Evelyn Sanderson, event organizer for Ray Holes.

The company is shooting to have 250 riders in this year’s parade, part of the three-day celebration that this year marks its 100th anniversary. In 2004, Ray Holes Saddle Company organized a similar procession to mark its 70th anniversary and had 123 riders participate.

“We’d like to double that for the 100th anniversary of Border Days,” Sanderson said.

For information call Sanderson at 983-1460.
