Horses, Riders Sought for 100th Border Days Parade

GRANGEVILLE — Are you a horse rider interested in being a part of history?

Ray Holes Saddle Company is seeking riders interested in being part of a horse procession during the Grangeville Border Days Fourth of July parade.

“It used to be the largest horse parade when Border Days first started,” said Evelyn Sanderson, event organizer for Ray Holes.

The company is shooting to have 250 riders in this year’s parade, part of the three-day celebration that this year marks its 100th anniversary. In 2004, Ray Holes Saddle Company organized a similar procession to mark its 70th anniversary and had 123 riders participate.

“We’d like to double that for the 100th anniversary of Border Days,” Sanderson said.
